Course overview

SFJ Level 4 Certificate of Achievement (CCS); Incident Command Assessor is designed for personnel within organisations who hold a valid assessor qualification and undertake command assessments.

This course is designed to complement and/or supplement the SFJ Level 5 Award in Designing delivering Incident Command Training, but for those members of staff who are only utilised in the Incident Command Assessment Function, i.e. The Command Assessor. 

The aim of the programme is to:

  • Provide a formal learning and development opportunity for those who assess existing and/or aspiring Incident Commanders within UK Fire & Rescue Services. 
  • Provide Incident Command Assessors with the knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable them to conduct assessments that are Valid - Authentic - Sufficient - Current - Reliable
  • Provide employers (UK FRS) with assurance that their Incident Command
  • Assessors are able to make valid, reliable and fair assessment decisions. 
  • Provide employers (UK FRS) with assurance that their Incident Command
  • Assessors are able to prove their competence in this discipline.
