Our awarding organisations are regulated by Ofqual (England) and the relevant regulatory bodies across Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland to deliver nationally recognised qualifications.
Our accrediting organisations ensure that our programmes meet defined industry standards for knowledge, skills, and technical competence, reflecting current operational practice.
These awarding organisations develop and deliver nationally recognised qualifications and, through regular external quality assurance visits, ensure we maintain required standards across assessment, internal verification, and delivery.
We are subject to rigorous external quality assurance by both awarding and accrediting organisations, ensuring high standards of delivery, robust assessment practice, and the integrity of all certifications. This external scrutiny provides assurance that our provision remains compliant, current, and aligned to both regulatory requirements and industry expectations.
SFJ Awards is an awarding organisation approved by the Qualification Regulators to provide qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They develop and deliver nationally recognised qualifications for the Justice and Community Safety Sector, the Legal Sector, Local Government and the Military. They also act as the Apprenticeship Assessment Organisation for our Operational Firefighter Apprenticeship.
At the College, the appropriate courses have undergone robust quality assurance of assessment, verification and delivery, ensuring our learners achieve nationally recognised qualifications.

JOIFF accreditation is a system of quality assurance that ensures that a minimum standard of training, carried out safely, is provided to all learners on an on-going basis. JOIFF accredited courses run by the College are internationally recognised qualifications and learners who successfully complete the courses receive a JOIFF accredited Certificate of Competence.

While none of our courses are directly accredited by BAFE, some of the qualifications we deliver through awarding organisations such as SFJ Awards are recognised within relevant BAFE competency frameworks. These qualifications can support individuals in demonstrating the knowledge and skills required to work within organisations that are seeking or maintaining BAFE certification.

The IFE assesses knowledge of fire and professional experience, awarding internationally recognised membership grades and registration with the Engineering Council. The IFE is also an awarding organisation for internationally recognised fire-related qualifications. The College is an IFE recognised training provider for specific courses.

Lantra is one the leading awarding organisations for land-based industries in both the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The College is an approved centre offering bespoke courses specifically aimed at the Highways Industry.

The College has become the first centre in Europe to achieve Pro Board accreditation to certify to the US-based National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards. The NFPA is a leading world authority on fire prevention and safety.
The accreditation is the Pro Board stamp of approval of the College’s test certification processes and procedures, which tests the knowledge, skills and abilities of learners wishing to be certified to NFPA standards.
