Course overview

This 2-week programme is designed for individuals transitioning to the Airport Fire Service from the local authority, military, or private sector fire service. It offers intensive training and assessment in aviation firefighting subjects, enabling participants to become certified Aviation Firefighters under CAP 699 AFF 1-9. This bespoke course not only amplifies core skills, BA competence and FRS experience but also imparts the essential acquisition skills needed to excel in an Aviation Rescue and Firefighting Service.

Programme delivery

Week 1 will be delivered off-site at an operational Airport Fire Station. Learners are exposed to realistic and practical training scenarios in challenging and controlled conditions, in both daylight and darkness.

Participants then return to FSC to complete week 2, responding to a wide range of aviation incidents.
