Course overview and learning outcomes
This qualification is aimed at candidates working within a Fire and Rescue Service and are who are required to identify and report on fire safety issues as part of their role. This would involve checking a fire risk assessment is in place and identifying and escalating any fire safety issues.
This qualification has been developed in collaboration with Fire and Rescue Services/Brigades and the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC).
The course will provide an understanding of risk assessments and control measures to mitigate risks from fire. Candidates will also be required to prepare for a visit to premises to carry out fire safety checks. On completion of the two mandatory units, candidates who wish to specialise in fire safety, can progress onto the Level 3 Fire Safety (Auditors) qualification.
